Conservative Democrats
Contrary to what the Republican Party would have you believe, the Democratic Party is not a bunch of aging hippy liberals. The Democratic Party like any democracy is composed of folks with lots of different ideas and backgrounds.
Unlike the Republican Party we are willing to let every minority speak out and express their opinions and even if we disagree we do not attack their right to speak. That is the definition of a Democracy.
Unlike the Republican Party we look for Public Servants not "Leaders" to control the political process. A republic needs leaders to tell the people what to do, in a democracy the people tell the public servants what they want them to do. Democrats like Democracy. Republicans like a Republic.

There are a lot of us conservative Democrats who are pro-life, anti-gay marriage and pro-gun rights. The problem is that we have not made our voices heard to the leaders of the Democratic Party. It is time for conservative Democrats to make their voices heard.
When (and if) the Democratic Party will listen to Conservative Democrats will it be as a ploy to get the vote? I'm begining to fear our interest in hearing out everyone is killing our chances of a true conservative. I know a lot of fellow Demo. are feeling unsure in the God-given right to speak our mind,too. Way too many conservatives are wanting a strong conservative Demo. to step up and speak out for us!

What's the story on the state pushing for funded stem cell research? I don't agree. There are other means of research that don't involve killing a human life.

Thanks to 500,000 dedicated conservationists,poplar bears are still on the endangered list and is protected under the Dept. Of Fish And Wildlife. This prevents Bush or anyone else from trapping or otherwise destroying our wildlife areas!
Nice work to our friends, the Sierra Club(www.sierraclub.org ) for alerting congress on this important task of being the gate keepers for wildlife from God! He provides and we have to maintain.

I want to speak in short about that terrible shoot out at Virginia Tech. College on Monday. I am very sorry about those students killed or wounded. God Bless. Now the topic of "should people own guns? Lets take away all the guns?" is reappearing.
In my opinion, as a 2nd Amendment person, we have good laws regarding those buying a gun in place. Remember, Guns don't kill people, people kill people.
In VA. State however, they are too liberal in sales of guns. Their state assembley has to have a waiting period set up, background checks, and for criminal background checks.
Buying a gun at Joe Blow's gun store for x amount and no questions asked is not good. I also favor ending cop killing bullets sales on the streets, AK 47 sales, and stopping those who knowingly sell to gang bangers to fight "tuff wars."
Finally, I feel background, criminal, and waiting periods are the way to go. We can't target the honest sportman or sportwoman who like to hunt or have a gun at home to protect their familes in todays sick world. They follow the rules, so should others.

Dear Readers-
Where is the Democrat candidate for president? So far, None of the people running really impress me. I hope this changes soon as our nation faces some tough questions in 2008.
Watching the Democratic debate in CNN News, I couldn't help wondering what is going on? We need a middle of the road Democrat who is sincere on why he or she is running.
Have the answers to the tough questions on the war, jobs, the poor, pro-life causes, and soaring gas prices. I didn't see that here as of yet.
Looking good for the camera is not enough. (I will go on the limb to say, all the candidates at this time look weak at best. I am not happy about Mrs. Clinton's appearances or Obama's either. )
Pro-life is important also. Why don't a pro-life Democrat step up to the plate? many Americans don't want abortion and would vote for a pro-life candidate. We have pro-life Democrats, so run them. We also need to let pro-life Democrats speak at the convention. Something that didn't happen in 1992 for example when pro -life was blocked out from the floor. Republicans will again use this point at election time. As the Blogger founder said to get the vote only and after that, so what!
We need a candidate in the frame of F.D.R. who knows what is best for the people and why he was elected for four terms as our president. WE need a Democrat president (and a pro-life one) at best more than ever today!

"NO, TO IMMIGRATION FREE RIDES!"
I am writing to you in regards to the issue of immigration of those who have entered here illegal. This Blue Dog Democrat says NO to having illegals in our country for a free ride. This is dangerous and will lower our way of life in America!
I don't have anything against an immigrant who wants to better his or her life. I however don't agree on making automatic citizens of those who go to the front of the line. If your here unlawfully, then out you go!
We have to enforce our laws we have to counter the problem. For example, learn English, Get the INS card, a background check, and learn how to be a good American! The list includes a strong boarders and sunsets on listening to phone calls and e-mails. We don't need additional laws on top of others being used now.
I feel that if the law is passed, our national security will be in serious danger and the standard of living will drop big time. Big business likes this due to the fact of get more work in for less money!
I also feel this gose against the working person due to the fact that a company could bust union strikes by hiring illegals for less!
Call your senators( DURBIN AND OBAMA) today and tell them NO to a free ride for illegals and bringing down our American way of life! See www.congress.org to get to your congressperson and senators. TELL THEM TO VOTE NO TODAY!
